On well-know views of New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Venice and Florence, revealing Sala’s connection with the urban or -vedute- tradition established by Canaletto and Guardi, the influence of American Masters such as Edward Hopper an Charles Sheeler, and his formal links with the photographic work of Eugene Atget, Walker Evans, and Berenice Abbot, all of which have heretofote been unacknowledged.
